Dualing Headliners!!!
"A show to see MUST this it's!
GREAT STUFF! 3 Doors Down absolutely "Killed it" not only by banging out all their recognizable tunes, but by introducing 3 new songs from the "Greatest Hits" album! INTO IT like nobody's business and ON IT was Brad Arnold (lead singer). Arnold's voice as as clean sounding as a production album! The crew also rolled out a Drum Kit in the latter part of the set so he could ride Dual Drums with Greg Upchurch. First, 3 Doors Down absolutely "Killed it" by not only banging out all their recognizable tunes, but by introducing 3 new songs from the "Greatest Hits" album!
I had been curious as to why they released "Outta my head" as a single when they have more pop-driven tunes on "Break This Spell"...that was until they cranked it up (2nd song in) and it CAME AT THE AUDIENCE LIKE A LOCOMOTIVE! Loofy brought BIG ENERGY to their set, too! Very Cool!
This high energy, young drummer who set the tone for an ADRENALINE-SHAKING SHOW, gotta hand it to Robin Diaz! (He was also GREAT with the fans - as was Brian Craddock - after the show. It was 30 degrees outside!).
Chris was on his game, too, as he found to way to hit ALL THE NOTES (and he can hit the rafters!) without sounding strained...along with his STRONG TALENT for delivering the meaning behind the songs (We're Not Gonna Fall...Gone Too Soon...Start of Something Good...September).
A VERY HIP MOMENT was when Brad Arnold (3 Doors) came out and helped on vocals with Tennesee line. GREAT IDEA and performed PERFECTLY!
The stage set-up was that of a small-time band. Lights were VERY GOOD, but the stage show was a bit weak. Two runners up to the drum kit and a single platform behind. The Big Screen was decent, but it's clarity was a bit second rate. The reasons for 4 stars instead of 5 (I'd give 4 1/2, if available) is that, first, POD didn't belong at the show. It's a talented group of guys, but it didn't fit the audience. Was Chris drowned out a few times by the guitars? It seems like it. Third (and final criticism), is that there seemed to be some things wrong in sound balance (or something) as there were quite a few conversations going on between Loofy, the stagehands, and a couple of band members on a few occasions that lessened what should have been a SEEMLESS show.
It was a GREAT EXPERIENCE! Thanks to Ticketmaster for making it SUPER EASY to buy tickets, and Thanks to the Bands for giving it their all!"
